2017 Honda Civic Hatchback Release Date
If you’re anything like the staff at Jeffrey Honda, then you’re highly anticipating the release date of the all-new 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback. Arriving this fall in North America, the next addition to the Civic family follows an impressive lineup. The 2017 Civic is set to be a game-changer, incorporating European inspired styling and five-door versatility with the Civic’s already impressive performance and Honda direct-injected turbo engine technology.
Trims and Performance
The 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback is built on the same platform as the Civic Sedan and Coupe, and will be available in five trims: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Sport Touring. The new Civic will offer a single engine: a 1.5L DOHC direct-injected turbocharged in-line 4-cylinder engine with an output of up to 174 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque in LX, EX, and EX-L trims with CVT.
When equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, the LX trim can reach 180 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. The Sport and Sport Touring trims can output 180 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque with CVT, and 180 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque with the 6-speed manual transmission. The Sport and Sport Touring trims also boast a high-flow center-mounted exhaust.
The turbocharged engine is set to be offered with either CVT (all trims) or 6-speed manual transmission (LX and Sport Trims).
Design and Spaciousness
The 2017 Civic features an interior that is as sleek as the exterior. The feather light body and elegant chassis design features a completely independent suspension system. The interior of the Hatchback offers the same modern, sophisticated feel as previous Civics from the past year. Drivers can count on high-grade materials and finishes throughout. The Civic also boasts an astounding cargo capacity 122.9 cubic feet of interior, 36 inches of legroom, and the largest cargo carrying capacity in its segment.
Tech and Safety
Updated tech and safety is perhaps what Honda fans are most excited about when it comes to this new model. The Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies are coming to most trims and standard on the Sport Touring trim. This suite includes an automatic and assisting braking system, a collision warning for the front of the vehicle, a lane keeping assistant and a lane departure system, advanced cruise control, and more.
Drivers can look forward to other tech like Honda Display Audio with Apple Carplay and Android Auto (EX trims and above), heated front seats and side mirrors, power driver and passenger seats, and a remote engine start.
