About the Award

The road to choosing the 2017 award winners was long and intense. The Good Housekeeping Institute worked with Car and Driver to evaluate over 100 new vehicle models. The candidates were then narrowed to a top 25, which were further assessed.

The top vehicles were driven more than 1,200 miles on open roads and test tracks to evaluate overall performance. Engineers from the Good Housekeeping Institute Labs and consumer testers rated the vehicles based on factors like safety, value, handling, smoothness, comfort, onboard technology, and interior design.

Some of the top attributes of the Honda Accord Sport included the spacious interior, exceptional fuel economy, and intuitive steering wheel-mounted controls. Good Housekeeping representatives were additionally impressed with the Accord Sport’s available Honda Sensing driver-assist technologies, which include a Collision Mitigation Braking System and Lane Keeping Assist. Overall, this sedan was miles ahead of the competition.
