2019 Civic vs. Mazda3 Performance Specs

Both the Honda Civic and Mazda3 benefit from advanced 4-cylinder engines under the hood, though the Civic has more engine options. While the only upgrade to the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine on the Mazda3 is the addition of Cylinder Deactivation at the Premium Package trim level, the Honda Civic gives drivers the option of upgrading from the base in-line 4-cylinder engine to an in-line 4-cylinder with Turbocharger.

The Mazda3 also only offers a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the Honda Civic offers a 6-speed manual transmission along with two different types of Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) choices. At the end of the day, the Honda Civic offers more options to suit a wider variety of driving styles. Also, the Civic is just really fun to drive!
